A First Place Win at State Fair

When Edie Hand spoke at a recent Teachers Conference in Alabama, Barbara Neel, a teacher at Valley Head High School wanted to help provide clothing for the children in need who participate in the Ramini Kids Foundation project in Indonesia. This Genuine Pearl Girls affiliation helps to spread acts of kindness and charity across the globe.  Barbara enlisted the aid and support of her sewing class students to help make these clothes and the student thought it was a great idea.  They highlighted their work at a State Fair and won First Place for their efforts.

The clothes, pillows and pillow cases they made will go not only to children in Indonesia but to children who are patients at the Children’s Hospital of Alabama too.  Here are some photos of these students at work.  The middle row right photos shows Barbara Neel holding up one of the garments at the Fair booth.
